my famous no-bake cookies

I've made these cookies for as long as I can remember. I made these all the time in middle school and high school- I'm sure all my childhood friends remember them well. They're still a favorite desert of mine and one that I make for my own family now. It's just so simple and quick. 

​INGREDIENTS

• 2 cups sugar
• 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
• 1/2 cup milk
• 1/2 cup butter
• 4 cups oatmeal
• 1/2 cup peanut butter
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In pan on stove mix the sugar, cocoa powder, milk and butter together. Heat and stir until it boils, boil for 2-3 minutes.
2. While butter is melting, in a separate bowl add oatmeal, peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of butter, and vanilla.
3. When pan mixture has boiled for 3 minutes, remove from heat and add bowl contents to pan. Mix well and drop by the spoonful onto waxpaper. Let cool.
